DON’T GET ON MY NERVES ,’LITERALLY’

October 12, 2013

So many liberties are taken with words, not only in English but other languages too. ‘How are you?’- ‘I am good’ (grr!).                                                   ‘You both have done very well, all three of  you’ ( my palm itches to slap).                                                                                                            ‘Anyways’ (now where did that come from?)                                                                                                                                                     It would be understandable if such terms came from persons not familiar with grammar but these are spoken by celebrities and thus become a part of speech.
