TRIBUTE

October 18, 2013

IMG_0093  We worship God, respect  and love our parents and our country but pay homage to the brave men who serve our country and the mankind. Soldiers are not only men who serve in the army but also people who fight against the evils or wrongs in the society selflessly. The irony is that while we follow and adore film stars, players, politicians and bureaucracy, we easily forget those whistleblowers who face harassment and/or lose their lives to make lives of others easier.                                                                                                  There have been instances when animals have given up their lives to save others . There was a Rajput king Maharana Pratap Singh who fought the great Mughal emperor Akbar. He had a horse named Chetak, who served him faithfully. In one of the battles, Chetak was badly wounded but when the king had to flee, he did his best to carry him away. However, he collapsed while trying to jump across a stream. To this day, ballads about his bravery are sung in Rajasthan. In  Udaipur, there is a huge garden dedicated to him.                                                                                                                                                                                                          Dogs have been known to guard the life and property of their owners at the expense of their own lives. Fighting predators, jumping into burning buildings and so on.                                                                                                                                                                                 I salute these brave hearts!100_0981
