NOT A BIG DEAL

January 21, 2014

Sixteenth birthday has not much significance  in India. In some communities attaining puberty is celebrated.                                                                                                                                                                                                               My birthdays were never celebrated, maybe because I was a girl and also because the weather would be very cold and wet and the schools would be out on winter vacations. On my sixteenth birthday, I, was probably a troubled teenager. Thank God that period is over. My daughter loves celebrating my birthday which is 5 days after hers.                                                                                                                                                              DSCN2260
