Out of their four children, elder three were almost the same age as us three. Though we studied in different schools, we played together and we three girls shared our experiences and were like sisters. We gossiped late into the night. We never used the gate, we climbed over the walls. Joys and sorrows were shared. Several other neighbours were like friends.                                                                                                                                                                                                          The neighbourhood we live in at present is very unfriendly. Everyone keeps to themselves. They may not come out to help but try to know what goes on in other people’s homes. Our neighbours on the left are OK but are very noisy. TV is played on full volume at all times and when they return late night, they create such a din. The neighbours at the back tease the dog and steathily cut our trees and vegetable plants. The neighbours on the right keep to themselves.
