STORY OF THE POMEGRANATE TREE

March 6, 2014

There was a loquat tree in my backyard that died. I planted a pomegranate plant in its place. After three years, it began to flower- beautiful orange flowersDSCN0898                                                                                                                                                               DSCN0967 Slowly, the flowers turned into green fruit that ripened to a rich red color. But the fruit split. Still, the birds like bulbul feasted with joy on the fruit and it was not wasted.                                                                                                                           DSCN2817    Alas! the severe winter and heavy rains took toll on the tree. It shed its leaves and the fruit rotted.                                      I am waiting for the season to change and the tree to regain its glory.
